I remember when this happened. He caught a lot of flack for it, too, because some folks were upset that he inserted himself into the story instead of just standing back and recording it as a mere journalist. His response to their bullshit was awesome, too; because he pointed out that he did what a decent human being should have done in a time like that. It made me like him even more.
